Fit diagnosis is deterministic and versioned
Decisagent Fit v0.4 applies an explicit, reproducible ruleset to user-supplied decision context. It assesses decision structure, evidence, objectives and constraints, consequence, actionability, human accountability, outcome observability, and the learning loop separately. It does not compute or expose a single numerical score.
Participation suitability and action-authority fit are separate judgments. The recommended maturity and provisional ceiling describe a proposed operating design, not a classification of a product, deployment, or organization. Product matches come only from the accepted public projection; candidate research is never a fallback.
The classification pipeline
Research and extraction can propose. They cannot accept or terminally reject authoritative intelligence. Public pages read only the human-accepted projection.
A complete, scoped criterion matrix
Every v0.2 classification covers every methodology criterion. Each is SUPPORTED, CONTRADICTED, UNKNOWN, CONFLICTING, or NOT APPLICABLE. Supported, contradicted, and conflicting assessments require linked evidence. Missing public evidence normally derives to unknown.
Decision
Named external decision rather than an internal task choice.
Evidence
Evidence assembly plus explicit gaps and conflicts.
Alternatives
First-class courses of action, evaluated into a recommendation.
Governance
Objectives, constraints, uncertainty, and reproducible trace.
Authority
Who or what authorizes an external effect, within which limits.
Execution
Decision computation is separate from consequential operational action.
Outcomes
Observed results must remain tied to the originating decision.
Learning
Expected-versus-actual can change later decisions only through governed updates.
The scope is explicit: product, component, configuration, deployment, or research artifact. Evidence from one scope cannot silently raise another. The assessment basis is separately recorded as documented capability, observed deployment, or independent evaluation.
Cumulative maturity architecture
- DA-0 — Insight Assistant
Information or analysis without a first-class external decision.
- DA-1 — Evidence Agent
Evidence assembly for a named decision, without alternative evaluation into a recommendation.
- DA-2 — Decision Support Agent
Explicit alternatives evaluated into a recommendation or justified abstention.
- DA-3 — Governed Decision Agent
A reproducible trace plus explicit objectives, constraints, or uncertainty.
- DA-4 — Decision-Action Agent
A consequential external action under explicit policy or action-time authority.
- DA-5 — Closed-Loop Decision Agent
Attributed outcome, expected-versus-actual comparison, and a governed later-decision update.
A human may accept a level below the calculated ceiling with an explicit editorial reason. A classification may not exceed its evidence ceiling through the ordinary path.
Decision service is not external action
DA-3 may compute or expose a governed decision through an API. DA-4 requires evidence that the assessed system causes a consequential external action or operational effect, plus explicit execution-mode scope and either policy-bound preauthorization or action-time human approval.
Recommendation ≠ authorization ≠ decision-service execution ≠ external operational action ≠ successful outcome.
DA-5 requires the whole decision loop
Monitoring, retraining, adaptive models, and generic “continuous learning” claims are insufficient. The evidence must connect an originating decision identity to an executed authorized action, an observed downstream outcome, attribution to that decision, expected-versus-actual comparison, and a governed update to a later decision process.
Evidence and provenance
Evidence posture describes who supplied or verified a claim: vendor claimed, vendor documented, customer reported, third-party research, or independently tested. The criterion assessment separately states what Decisagent can conclude. Exact excerpts remain linked to timestamped observations; public citations omit internal notes and raw extraction material.
Human review, versions, and corrections
Material claims and classifications become authoritative only through an accountable human review with rationale. Revisions are immutable. New accepted evidence can invalidate a dependent classification until it is reviewed again under the current methodology.
To report a source or interpretation problem, follow the correction process.
What Decisagent does not claim
A maturity level is not product quality, a ranking, deployment safety, customer validation, or proof of business outcomes. A Fit result is a provisional design recommendation from supplied context, not an empirical classification of an organization. A Decision Design Specification is a review artifact, not approval to build, buy, change policy, or delegate authority.
Candidate research remains private. No vendor profile, relationship, or classification appears publicly until accountable human review makes it accepted and publication-safe. UNKNOWN and CONFLICTING remain visible rather than being silently resolved.
